Senior Developer/Architect Windows Azure

Description:
Our client is looking for a senior software developer/architect who has skills and experience with the Microsoft platform, a solid track record of delivering applications and a desire to work with customers to provide world-leading solutions.
The candiate will have practical experience with the following programming languages: Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008, C#, Microsoft .NET, Web and Java. Professional experience with cloud computing, specifically Microsoft Windows Azure would be desirable.
Candidates must be “all-rounders” having an appreciation of end-to-end solution delivery, a confident presenter with strong communication skills and the ability to run client workshops. A can-do attitude with ability to “think-on-your-feet” and willingness to become involved and try new challenges is important. We want people, who enjoy computing, are passionate about programming, excited by the technology and who are always willing to learn, take on new challenges and bring fresh ideas.
Key Responsibilities
|
- Providing expert technical consultancy and leadership.
- Leading analysis, design and development.
- Providing consulting on solution integration into existing customer systems.
- Liaising with clients, team members, project managers, solution architects and others within the clients business and to deliver successful projects.
- Working closely with Microsoft consultants and product teams
- Being able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Actively participating in pre-sales activities working with the business development team.
- Providing estimation and planning for projects
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and ensure all operational activities meet organisational requirements for quality management, health & safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, etc.
- To be an active and effective member of the development team on all matters of technical delivery, ensuring that the company achieves all its objectives and fulfils statutory and contractual obligations in a responsive, customer focused and timely manner.

- Attend and contribute to meetings as necessary.
- Liaise with external agencies as necessary (including clients and suppliers).
- Deputise for colleagues as necessary.

Desirable Knowledge |
As the role has a strong dependency on the ERP system, any experience of mid
range ERP or CRM systems (e.g. MS Dynamics) would be a bonus, but not
essential.

- Experience of MVC frameworks (specifically ColdBox)
- Experience of Adobe Flex
- Basic Linux skills
- Additional web development technologies
- Knowledge and understanding of MySQL
- Apache configuration skills and IT security knowledge
- Web Security knowledge
- Experience of quality control systems and version management
